I stayed here for about 3 nights, and 4 days. This hotel seemed rather old, and the rooms were not the best, but the location was perfect and breakfast was good, and free wifi is always a plus! It was close to the train station, close to the malls, site seeing, night life, everything was in walking distance from this hotel. The problem with the hotel was that the room I was in had issues. The roomI stayed in had two beds, and the side I stayed in, did not have a functioning night light, the window would not open properly, and although the door was supposed to lock when you close it, I could open it without using the key to the room, which did not seem very secure. The breakfast had standard food (eggs, meats, vegetables, coffee, juice, bread, baked goods, and yogurt). They provided fruits and to go cups which helped when in a rush.
We stayed here for a week on a business/holiday trip. Such a great location, easy to get to the centre of the town and all the tourist hotspots!! Handy tram stop if you want to go further out. Staff are lovely, and English is superb, as it is everywhere in Helsinki. It is no great shakes luxury wise, but as for the best bed in town it has my vote! We had 4 beds in our room, a TV with a variety of channels, and a lovely hot shower. Rooms cleaned everyday. Breakfast was lovely with a great variety. I highly recommend the meatball things, delish!! Free wifi (that works!) which is always a bonus that is available in the room too. Overall a great trip!
Arthur Hotel is a hotel that is in the heart of the city. One can walk to most of the site seeing spots in the city on foot. We stayed here for two nights and found that it suited our basic needs. The location of the hotel is nice and central, close to both metro and bus stations. The airport train also leaves from the station. (Just a tip when buying your airport ticket from the ticketing machine. You cannot buy your ticket in advance. When you buy the ticket it's only valid for 1hr20 on the day of purchase. It's not refundable either. And no where when buying the ticket does it tell you that either. So only buy your tickets when you are ready to leave!) The hotel room was clean and very large. The bathroom had no bath, only a shower. Not sure if that's though out the hotel or if you do have the option for a bath? However this was not a problem for me. The bed was comfortable and the heating was perfect. All that said the room is very out dated. Nothing in our room looked worn out it just looks old fashioned. So if modern, clean lines is your style, this hotel won't meet that need! Breakfast (included in our price of the stay) was adequate to kickstart your day. It was the same choices both mornings. I wouldn't say it was the best spread I've ever seen on my travels but there is enough choice there to satisfy the morning hunger! Arthur Hotel may not be your modern 21st century hotel, however if you are looking for a place that's clean to lay your head down at night and a good location that's in walking distance from transport then this hotel will be perfect. I would stay here again.
Good choice if you are looking for standard accomodation with good breakfast included in the room price. Clean rooms, but oldish. Can be pretty hot in the summertime. Just a short walk from the railway station. Free WiFi. Tram stop round the corner.
All you will need to see Helsinki by foot. Great breakfast, nice simple lobby bar and rooms where everthing works well including the wifi. There is even a sauna on every floor to complete your Finland experience. All this for a bery reasonable price.
Good position to visit the centre near train station and 1.5 km from the port, 200 mt from underground station. Good breakfast but is closed too early in the morning (9.30 am). Rooms are simply and not so well furnished. Staff kind .
The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great. What's better, the location is perfect for any tourist attraction.
Top hotel for our recent visit. RIGHT in the town centre near the bus and railway station. We caught the bus from the airport and wheeled our cases up to the hotel.
Warm friendly welcome and a great room with first class facilities. Great breakfast too with plenty of choice. A little bit quirky but really enjoyed our stay here.
Shops are near and altogether a great experience!!
Very nice and friendly staff all around, rooms a bit shabby but ok as to cleanliness. Breakfast on the simple side, but again everything was very fresh, and included in the price. Overall, good value for money in Helsinki!
When we checked into the hotel, we were not sure what to expect. Upon arriving in our room, which was supposed to be one with a bit of "extra room" (though an online special at the time), we found there was little more than room for a bed, chair and a little furniture. It was clean. I went downstairs and politely explained our disappointment at the size of the room. The woman at the desk did some checking and gave us a better room on the ninth floor at no charge. What a difference in size. Nice shower, big bed, room to walk around, great decoration and furniture.
Breakfast was a bit average, but still good to have available at the hotel and included. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and just a block or so away from public transportation to the airport, making this a good deal, overall.
