Restaurant Arthur Helsinki has been operating since 1927, whereupon the eatery that gained great popularity was called Hospiz. The writer Aino Kallas told reporters in a book that of all the restaurants in Helsinki, she missed Hospiz the most, due to its good, simple, and personalized home-cooked food. Restaurant Arthur has been operating in its location since 1957, and its popularity as a lunching restaurant, as well as a private and corporate function venue in Helsinki, goes on. Restaurant Arthur's central location, relaxed atmosphere, wonderful kitchen and three private cabinet rooms, for altogether 100 people, provide a high quality setting for cabinet dinners, special occasions and various events.
In addition, Restaurant Arthur Helsinki serves authentic Finnish cuisine, the traditional May Day lunches, Mother's and Father's Day lunches, Christmas parties and Christmas table are well known concepts. During the planning of the menus and food lists, attention is paid to the season and seasonal products, lamb is always served at Easter, May Day lunches include herring and other May Day treats, a delicious Mother Day cake is baked for Mother's Day, Father’s Day brunches provide more substantial food and the Christmas table is adorned with traditional Finnish Christmas delicacies, such as rosolli, ham and a variety of casseroles.
Led by Chef Jorma Bogdanoff, our chefs prepare a hearty breakfast buffet on a daily basis, as well as a delicious buffet lunch. The lunch table has the soup of the day and three other main course options, in addition to a comprehensive salad bar. The A la carte menu contains fresh salads, creamy soups, warm fish and meat dishes, for both small and large appetites, as well as mouth-watering desserts. A special mention must go out to two of our most popular servings- creamy salmon soup and Arthur's traditional pepper steak. Meals can be rounded off with wines especially selected by our restaurant manager.
