A good deal in Helsinki, centrally located near the station. Warm welcome from staff and room was large and clean. Good shower and comfortable bed.
The oft found European small lifts and steps to the foyer and between landings makes luggage handling difficult but to their absolute credit staff went out of their way to give me a room that eliminated as much of this as possible.
Nice breakfast. Would stay again.
I love this place! Only stayed there once, so far, but will again, someday! Great location, great staff, great food, great rooms, great rates! Helsingin paras hotelli!
A very comfortable place. As Helsinki isn't the cheapest city considering hotel prices, we were choosing a hotel with all the necessary amenities and not too expensive at the same time. Quite accidentally I found this hotel in the Internet. I wrote there by e-mail and got information I wanted very quickly. I consulted my family and we decided to stay in it. My overall impression is very positive. Though the furniture in the room isn't new, it adds some charm to the place. The room was very spacious (#301). There was a tea/coffee set. The towels were changed every day. The cleaning was well-done.The staff is very helpful and hospitable. The breakfasts are also quite sufficient. If you look for modern things and luxury, it isn't for you. If you look for comfort, cosyness and hospitality, then it might be your choice. I'm sure I'll stay there again!
Small, comfortable room.
Thanks to the reviews, Hotel Arthur was what I expected. Great location, friendly staff and a small comfortable room! I opted for the ‘share bathroom/shower’ facilities room and was happy with my selection. My room was on the 8th floor and the toilet was nearby, never had to wait and the shower was on the floor below, but again, never had to wait. Both facilities were always clean and the shower had great water flow and room to move! My room was small and basic, with a single bed and vanity and a small desk and tv and hairdryer. There was no view, as such, but I wasn’t there for a room with a view! I was very comfortable and slept well, in a comfortable bed and it was quiet. It was really hot (27 - 30C) for the 3 days I was in Helsinki, but, it was not hot in my room. The window opened sufficiently to let in fresh air. There was no wardrobe, just a coat rack type stand, with plenty of hooks, so, I sort of lived out of my suitcase, but, things like that don’t bother me for short stays! My room was clean and comfortable, and had everything I needed, which I appreciated. Breakfast (included) was good! Hot drinks, pastries, cereals, cold meats, salad, fresh fruits, bread, toasters and good, large restaurant/dining area. You can get other cooked breakfast things, by paying extra. All hotel staff I encountered were friendly, helpful, well presented and efficient. Such nice people, so, thank you to all for making my stay such a pleasant one! Late checkout (12pm, loved it!) great reception facilities, lots of seating, coffee/tea available after hours, luggage storage facilities and toilets, if you have a late flight (like I did) and the wi-fi worked great throughout the whole hotel. The Hotel is in a good area, close to the Central station and many main attractions, botanical gardens, Hop On/Hop Off bus stop and restaurants/bars/cafes/shopping, all very close by. I felt safe walking around the area, day or night.
Great place to stay in town
Nice staff, near bus access, very big room and silently sleep. You can find cheap food in train station nearby hotel. We found very cheap items shop near this hotel too, they sell souvenir and more things.
Great location and value in Helsinki
We spent 2 nights here and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the harbor, train station, downtown shopping, and practically next door to the wonderful botanical gardens. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a very nice dinner that was reasonably priced in the restaurant and a very good buffet breakfast was included daily in the price of our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. If I ever visit Helsinki again, and I would love to, I'd stay at the Arthur Hotel.
I stayed here for about 3 nights, and 4 days. This hotel seemed rather old, and the rooms were not the best, but the location was perfect and breakfast was good, and free wifi is always a plus! It was close to the train station, close to the malls, site seeing, night life, everything was in walking distance from this hotel. The problem with the hotel was that the room I was in had issues. The roomI stayed in had two beds, and the side I stayed in, did not have a functioning night light, the window would not open properly, and although the door was supposed to lock when you close it, I could open it without using the key to the room, which did not seem very secure. The breakfast had standard food (eggs, meats, vegetables, coffee, juice, bread, baked goods, and yogurt). They provided fruits and to go cups which helped when in a rush.
Also Lage: PERFEKT.
Arthur Hotel is a hotel that is in the heart of the city. One can walk to most of the site seeing spots in the city on foot. We stayed here for two nights and found that it suited our basic needs. The location of the hotel is nice and central, close to both metro and bus stations. The airport train also leaves from the station. (Just a tip when buying your airport ticket from the ticketing machine. You cannot buy your ticket in advance. When you buy the ticket it's only valid for 1hr20 on the day of purchase. It's not refundable either. And no where when buying the ticket does it tell you that either. So only buy your tickets when you are ready to leave!) The hotel room was clean and very large. The bathroom had no bath, only a shower. Not sure if that's though out the hotel or if you do have the option for a bath? However this was not a problem for me. The bed was comfortable and the heating was perfect. All that said the room is very out dated. Nothing in our room looked worn out it just looks old fashioned. So if modern, clean lines is your style, this hotel won't meet that need! Breakfast (included in our price of the stay) was adequate to kickstart your day. It was the same choices both mornings. I wouldn't say it was the best spread I've ever seen on my travels but there is enough choice there to satisfy the morning hunger! Arthur Hotel may not be your modern 21st century hotel, however if you are looking for a place that's clean to lay your head down at night and a good location that's in walking distance from transport then this hotel will be perfect. I would stay here again.
