We had an excellent stay in helsinki, we arrived at the train station, and were pleased to know the hotel was only a few shorts blocks away. Nice, helpful and friendly staff, good restaurant, good morning buffet. Would again return for a stay at this hotel.
PROS: Excellent location , two blocks from the Helsinki Central train station, lots of shipping nearby , bus and tram stops across the street., lots of restaurants nearby. Excellent breakfast buffet, comes with the reservation, Excellent friendly staff service, with a few Euro deposit you can rent out f Euro power plug which is excellent, room is also excellent sizable clean, has a good view of the street, the bathroom is small really small closet sized but is clean with excellent strong water pressure, and the tap water is clean, super clean , probably the cleanest tastiest tap water ive tasted better than bottled water, also one of hte most enjoyable showers I had with this kind of water. While the bathroom was small never had a problem using it. Bed was also comfortable to sleep in with good blankets for the cold. Clean hotel rooms and bathroom.
CONS: Expensive , well its one of the cheapest hotels of its type in Helsinki but still expensive. The elevator was OK, but its big steel door which you have to open to get in can be disconcerting, You can hear people moving about in the floor corridors while you are in your room anyways I did not have a problem sleeping in spite of this. While the hotel is clean , its old, and you can tell.
CONCLUSION: Excellent stay in this hotel. I would stay again if I ever come back to Helsinki.
Hotel Arthur is a nicely located hotel very close to the centre of Helsinki.
On arrival the hotel looks clean and in very nice surroundings. Reception and check in was very quick and very welcoming.
The rooms are clean, adequate facilities and ample storage space.
Breakfast was good, there is plenty to eat and drink.
The only downside to this hotel is in places it is old and needs a little renovation in the room department. Other than this for the price this is hotel is great.
This hotel has very good location from walking distance from everything in the city center, really a lucky decision to stay here.
The bed was very much comfortable!
Simple and nice, clean hotel with polite and helpful stuff.
I shall go back, if I ever can do it.
We checked in late Friday. We got greeted nicely. This hotel is nothing fancy, but it’s location is the best. So close to the train station, good restaurants, attractions and the best clubs/bar. Ok, breakfast and friendly staff. If you are looking for a cheap hotel that’s in the center. This is it
Thank you very much! I arrived with my grandparents. The room and the service were excellent. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was great as well. The Internet worked fine.
I stayed here for about 3 nights, and 4 days. This hotel seemed rather old, and the rooms were not the best, but the location was perfect and breakfast was good, and free wifi is always a plus! It was close to the train station, close to the malls, site seeing, night life, everything was in walking distance from this hotel. The problem with the hotel was that the room I was in had issues. The roomI stayed in had two beds, and the side I stayed in, did not have a functioning night light, the window would not open properly, and although the door was supposed to lock when you close it, I could open it without using the key to the room, which did not seem very secure. The breakfast had standard food (eggs, meats, vegetables, coffee, juice, bread, baked goods, and yogurt). They provided fruits and to go cups which helped when in a rush.
We stayed here for a week on a business/holiday trip. Such a great location, easy to get to the centre of the town and all the tourist hotspots!! Handy tram stop if you want to go further out. Staff are lovely, and English is superb, as it is everywhere in Helsinki. It is no great shakes luxury wise, but as for the best bed in town it has my vote! We had 4 beds in our room, a TV with a variety of channels, and a lovely hot shower. Rooms cleaned everyday. Breakfast was lovely with a great variety. I highly recommend the meatball things, delish!! Free wifi (that works!) which is always a bonus that is available in the room too. Overall a great trip!
